Dear Outcasts
This is a love letter to each and every outcast who has known the shame of rejection, the pain of being overlooked and ignored. This goes out to all the "invisibles" who gave it their all from day to day just to get through. This goes out to everyone who is different; who doesn't live up to the social standards. This goes out to the ones who are undervalued because they don't have "looks" to go with their personality. This goes out to the brains with no boobs, this goes out to the guys who love life but aren't loved back, this goes out to the world of the shunned, underestimated, underrated.
Screw convention, screw the "norm". Screw all the pretty faces who get more than they deserve without acknowledging how lucky they are. Screw the people who could never understand what it means to work for a reputation, screw the people who look down from their high horses thinking they have it all.
Screw looking up at what's beyond. Never mind that. They're not above us, they're not below us. They're not even worth trying to look over at. We are all beautiful, we are all free to be who we want to be and we will always find friends who understand if we look around at all the other lonely faces of a crowd. For those of us who are luckier, don't ignore these faces. It's too easy to revel in our own glory while simply overlooking the people who don't have the same fortune. Enough of this discrimination, enough of this shrugging and walking past. Isn't it all our duties to make an effort to help those in need? Don't we expect the same thing when we're in pain? Lonely, without a friend to turn to? Are we not all the same with our yearning hearts? Why is it so hard to simply offer a hand to the ones who have it harder than we do. This goes out to everyone who has ever felt lonely, to anyone who has wished for someone to call true. Isn't that all of us at one point or another? Whether we admit it or not, we're all the same. There's no hierarchy, there's no above and below. There is only equal ground where we're all human and we all need each other. Look beyond the surface. See deep into the well within.
